Leadership

Brother Scott is a graduate of Furman University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He came to Union after serving churches in Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. His musical tastes extend into every genre. He and his wife, Nancy, have been married since the mid-1980s and have a cat named Lily. Brother Scott's favorite scripture passage is Ephesians 2:4-5: "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,  made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved."

Born in Snellville and raised in Loganville, Georgia, Tyler felt called to pastoral ministry from a very young age as the Lord spared his life after being born extremely prematurely. His heart’s desire is to use his testimony of living with cerebral palsy to engage the next generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has over seven years of ministry experience, serving as a student pastor and Bible teacher in Walton County. He is a graduate of Truett-McConnell University, Luther Rice University and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity at Luther Rice as well.  He also enjoys spending time in the Word, with his family, attending Georgia Bulldogs football games, Atlanta Braves baseball games, and eating good steak and BBQ!

Jana has been a member of UBC since January 2002. She has worked at Union Baptist Early Education since August 2003 and was promoted to Director in 2017. Jana and her husband Dan “Wally” have been married since the mid-90s and have two daughters, Hannah and Summer. 

Melanie has lived in Hoschton, Georgia for more than 30 years.  Her hobbies include cooking, crafting, and spending time with her son.  She began working as Union's Financial Secretary in December 2023. 

Originally from Monroe, Georgia, Rebecca–known as “Becca”–has been living in Winder for more than five years. She is happily married with a wonderful little boy. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and 2  cats, listening to music, singing, and watching her favorite TV shows. Becca is excited to be a part of the Union family and can't wait to see where this adventure takes her!

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Peggy moved to Georgia in 1988 and has been a member of UBC since the mid-90s. She attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham and then worked in the Advertising and Publishing arm of the Bell System and associated companies for 45 years. She is a mother of three precious children: Dr. Emily Bryant, Officer Kristen Bryant, and David Bryant who lives now with Jesus in heaven. Peggy is retired and enjoys reading, swimming, football (Roll Tide!) and, of course, music.
